June News

June 5, 2017

Dear Members of the J. Turner Hood School Community:

As the 2016-2017 school year draws to a close, on behalf of our entire staff, I would like to say thank you to our wonderful parents and families for their help during this successful academic year.

May and June have been incredibly busy months. Teachers are assessing students to make surethat maximum learning and meeting grade level curriculum demands have been met. Students are completing their last projects, papers and reports. As the days get warmer and the evenings get longer, I remind everyone that schoolwork still needs to remain a priority. All students need to leave in June feeling successful and accomplished. While these feelings can go on a short break over the summer months these positive feelings will surface in late August when thoughts once again turn to school.

Thank you to our Parent’s Association- On behalf of all our students and staff, I would like to pass along a big Thank you to the PTO Board and other volunteers for their hard work and dedication to our school. Please know that their efforts are the reason that we are able to offer so many wonderful enrichment programs for our students.

Field Day-
I would like to formally invite all members of our school community to participate in field day by registering using the following link:

At this time, with the entire school community present, we will recognize volunteers from our parent’s association as well as our school council whose terms have ended or will not be returning.
