Why join the Safe Homes Program?

Parents remain concerned about the increase in alcohol and other drug use among our youth, and the social acceptance of this use.
  • Alcohol is the most toxic of the recreational drugs and is the one to which young people most often become addicted.
  • Drinking with peers usually starts at the middle school level and increases with age.
  • Alcohol and other drugs are the leading causes of teenage date rape, robberies, and vandalism.
  • The leading cause of death of teenagers in our country is auto accidents which frequently involve alcohol or other drugs.

  1. All parties will be supervised.
  2. Alcohol will not be condoned or served to anyone under the legal drinking age.
  3. Illegal drugs will not be allowed.
  4. Host parents will be contacted to confirm any written or verbal invitation.
  5. Communication with other parents will be encouraged.
