Meal Service During School Closure

Meal Service
Meal Program
  • Meals are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Children receive a free breakfast and lunch for every day of the week (bagged breakfast and bagged lunch). Parents/guardians on behalf of the children can take multiple days’ worth of meals at once.
  • On Fridays, families pick-up meals to cover both breakfast and lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Children do not need to be present for parents/guardians to pick up meals.
  • Meals are available to all children, ages 0-21.
  • Children do not need to be students of North Reading Public Schools, this is a community-wide meals program.
  • Safe social distancing is practiced during the pick-up process. Meals are distributed outside the gymnasium entrance at the high school curbside where parents/guardians make the pick-up/drop off loop. Food Service staff place meals in the backseat or rear hatch of vehicles to maintain distance.
  • To make this even easier families no longer need to pre-register for this service they can just arrive during the meal pick-up time between 8:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
  • Anyone who cannot make it out of their house to pick-up a meal is encouraged to call Anna McGovern, Food Services Director, at 978-526-5274 or contact her via email at amcgovern@nrpsl12.org.
