Welcome Kate Filteau, New Director of Food Services

Kate Filteau Bio

Kate Filteau has a A.S. in Culinary Arts & a B. S. in Culinary Nutrition from Johnson & Wales University. After college she worked for a couple of different companies working front of the house in some restaurants to managing banquets at inns. Kate had been the Assistant Food Service Director for Malden Public Schools from September 2015 through August 2023. It was her job in Malden where she was introduced to the world of school foodservice and found her niche.

Kate’s strength is planning and executing new programs and systems. In Malden Kate started a hybrid breakfast program at the Salemwood School using equipment awarded from multiple grants. By starting that program, she increased breakfast participation by 80%. Kate was also in charge of the summer lunch program for Malden which feed children over 14,000 lunches this past July.
Kate has lived in Hudson, NH for the past 11 years. She and her husband Mark have been married for 13 years. She has a stepdaughter, Leah, who is in her second year at Plymouth State University and a son, Logan, who is in 7th grade.
