Remote Learning Requests and Materials Pick Up

December 15, 2020

Dear Parents/ Guardians:

First and foremost, I would like to say thank you to all of the members of our school community for all of their support during these challenging times.

As we enter 2021, we are reaching out to maintain an accurate list of students who will be learning remotely and to tighten up two internal procedures relative to this process.

For context, throughout the recent weeks, additional families chose to move out of hybrid and into the remote option (Cohort D) on a temporary basis. We have an accurate representation of those individuals as of today.

Going forward, what we are requesting is that if you are reporting that you are “going remote” or as we refer to it as “pivoting to cohort D” we need a two-week commitment with reasonable notice of a return date or minimally two weeks from the request date. If this return date is indefinite or undecided that is fine as well we are just looking for a rough understanding for planning purposes specifically around the preparation of materials and management of student attendance data.

Here is a link to the aforementioned form:

This form will be posted to our website and it will notify all necessary parties of your intentions/ plans. Going forward all emails to teachers relative to “going remote”  will redirect parents to complete the aforementioned form as this is the best mechanism to keep all parties notified specifically myself, the Nurse, the School Secretary and the teacher/s.

Pick up of materials has been demanding as of late and I am looking to standardize practices relative to this.  Going forward, individuals may stop by during school hours after arrival but before dismissal which is 8:05 am to 2:20 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Please know that after school hours work on these days as well. Specifically 2:30pm to 3:00pm.  Please be reminded that we are asking all individuals to wear masks on campus and observe social distancing.

In closing, I want to reiterate our gratitude for your continued support and wish you and your family good health. I feel confident that when we all return together, it will be with a greater sense of belonging and a renewed perspective on all of the values that make our school such a special place.

Sincerely,

Dr. McKay
