We Are Unbeleafably Kind

Hello Hood Friends,

We Are Unbeleafably Kind

Did you know, on Friday, November 13th, it is World Kindness Day? In an effort to promote kindness, the Hood School will embark on a kindness tour throughout the school year. The theme of November is, “We Are Unbeleafably Kind” at the Hood School. In our lobby you will find a tree ready to be filled with acts of kindness in the form of leaves. It’s an interactive bulletin board that we look forward to watching grow together. During these uncertain times, it is more important than ever that we come together to embrace and encourage kindness.

On the first Wednesday of every month, there will be a live read aloud at 11:00am ranging anywhere between 8-15 minutes. Our first live read aloud will be Friday, November 13th at 9am since there is no school due to Veteran’s Day. The books have been carefully selected around the theme of kindness and social justice and will be read by a member of our school climate group, or staff.

This read aloud will be in the form of an all-school assembly and a link will be provided by Dr. McKay for in-person and remote students. Please remember your home is an extension of the classroom and you are responsible for:

  staying muted

  keeping your video off

  sitting respectfully and listening attentively

We hope you enjoy our first challenge in this month of November and we look forward to making more memories with all of you.

Sincerely, Hood School Teachers and Staff
